I've not read all the way through yet, but this story is a good example of what a good furry VN can do, how it grabs you and draws you in, leaves you wanting more. Big props to Ryuo for this excellent story!
Fantastic story Ryuo. Thank you for your dedication to finishing the project. The end was a fitting conclusion, and I am really grateful for the experience.
From the start this story was just fantastic and really pulls you in. The pacing from start to finish is near perfection. The storytelling and world building that this team created really displays their creativity and ability to communicate that to the reader. This is one of those few VNs that really caught my attention and kept it. Rare 10 out of 10 recommend
It's an incredible novel, but will it be translated into more languages like Spanish in the future? My English is really bad, and I've had trouble understanding some things.
Si tienes fb puedes buscar un grupo que se llama Echo Project Fandom y otros, hay una persona (Emel D.) ahi que se dedica a traducir VNs , ojalá te sirva
Such a beautifully and thoughtful well written visual novel. While it requires almost no mechanics and minimal choice from us as the player, you feel so interconnected with Alex that you live vicariously through him. Without spoiling it, if there's one visual novel of any genre you consider playing - it should be this one. I can't wait to see if there's a sequel.
I am shooketh! This vn has left me on the verge of tears. the idea that I will never get to see more of these characters has made me absolutely distraught! may everyone who worked on this masterpiece find happiness, fuck you, humbug, and good day!
I have made an account just to say this: GOLY GEE IS THIS GOOD. I want to give standing standing ovation to the people that were involved with writing, creating and producing this. To the arists, you got a astounding amount of talent. To the writers, you write in a very interesting way that i adore. I bow my head to all of you magnificent people, and i wish you luck with any further endeavors in creating any type of media.
Now to get some theories here. I personally belive that the all magick, the soulcreek and all of that supernatural stuff is just the warp from WH40K and Alex is a psycher. Glitch is a deamon (i would place him more on tzeenches side but who the hell knows really.), Byte is just a shard of the BIG E, just kind of molded and customized. And everything else can be expleined by it just being WH. Anthros? Just warp shananigans or native species of that planet. Humans? Just came here before the big ass warp storm. Cascade? Just a big worp rift appearing and fucking shit up.
Soo good, the ending, the story, the plot. Kiss the chef
Okay so spoiler warning now, and please read the fvn first, I warn you :D

So bla bla bla, Alex and loken are still together and are now adjusting to the couple life while also doing their duties. The chief going to combine the two clan, Niro and tashi are in a still a question relationships. Bla bla
Okay I won't skip this, byte................ In my impression, we do loss byte, the demon byte, and what's left is the ai, the thing Alex father made and feed to the whisper. Well that my impression why byte now forget, and having trouble now remembering. Or it's because of the algorithm as we did see the effects, idk
Now purely theory, our alex have transcend, yes what glitch and the othe demon wanted, he have ascended, well in what we can see, or he can now fully use the power. Glitch is still being torture, head cannon (100℅ deserve). And now seems like Alex would can potentially be a villain, just assume really from the ending. But I digress
I really like how there no real hero at all, just people win and loss in the end.
I'm genuinely having so much fun and ive played at least 6 hours worth of the game, but I'm kinda confused as to how far into the story I am? If it helps, the mc just.. uh.. throated... Loken...
Um anyways, any estimate as to where I am in the story as like a percentage would be great! Thank you!
It's crazy, after so much time following up this game, i feel... Complete. Thank you Ryuo and your dev team, you guys made possibly one of the greatests pieces of fiction ever know in the visual novel genre, i'm not being a bootlicker by saying it, i really meant it. Your work changed my perspective on creation and fuelled me of ideas for amazing stories. Thank you for following up your passion and giving it to us this masterpiece
this is not an appreciation letter, don't listen to the guy beneath me. I agree with them. but don't listen to them. ahgjfklrjakshdsj

fuckyoufuckyoufuckyoufuckyoufuckoyufuckyoughfuckyoufkuckjyoufijcug COEM ON. Okay. Fantastic game, first of all. Certainly the best VN I've ever read, though that could be because the other contenders are yet unfinished, but whatever.
Listen to me.
Listen to me.
How dare you. The climax, perfect. Wonderful. I had no clue how you could possibly make a battle that could theoretically be finished instantly interesting, but I guess you've made a fool out of me. And then: Timeskip. WHAT. You put me here! You bound my heart by chains of anticipation, praying that Loken's gonna be okay. PRAYING that when they find each other, they'll lovingly embrace, and be able to work through the emotional trauma of all this- AND THE PHYSICAL! Not just Alex's situation, but all of them having to figure out what place they have in this new world.
And all that happened, it's just that I DIDN'T GET TO FUCKIGN SEE IT. You edged me! You blueballed me! My heart is STRUNG. Emotionally, I am on the edge of a cliff, hoping that everything is going to be okay. That the cliff is just a hill, that will slope with cope and I can watch the characters recover while I do as well. NO! I FELL OFF THE CLIFF! everything is okay at sea level, there's fish and stuff, it's cool! IT'S JUST THAT I HIT THE WATER AT TERMINAL VELOCITY. GOD. i need a million more words of fluff. i need the entire cast recovering from the consequences of the final act. i nEED them both working through it, and supporting each other with their love, as they make sense of it all. I crave this. deeply.
god. but thats not the story that Soulcreek is. maybe. Soulcreek has always had phenomenal pacing. It only ever lurched forward with important plot beats, before soon readopting the brisk pace that made it so captivating in the first place. What I want is basically to slow it to a leisurely stroll. Each day a new problem, some way Illayla needs repairing, and discovering, and changing. But never a weight too heavy to lift. They'd help, they'd work, maybe travel around the clans, begining the first steps towards a united Illayla, I don't know. Then every night, they would find comfort in each other's embrace, and know they can take anything the world throws at them. Maybe that's just not what Soulcreek is. It's the fantasy of a desperate fan seeking closure. Maybe it's better as it stands. Such things remaining left to the imagination, it can be as wonderful as we want it to be, in our hearts and minds.
But everyone else got to know, they lived it. They cried, and hugged, and loved, and persevered, and planned, and hoped, and dreamed, and recovered, and built, and-... and got closure. Why shouldn't I? Why can't I?
I'd rather not have to work through it all by myself, you understand.
I spent an hour writing this. That's how good your work was. Fuck you
I'll be honest. I refuse to read anything after the previous update when we lost Ayeon 😭. I refuse to let go of Alex, Loken, Mylo, Takhi(sp?), and especially Byte. Byte was one of the best written characters I've seen in any fictional story, FVN or not. He's funny, innocent, lost, caring, compassionate, etc and he's not even "real!" I refuse to live in a world where the love Loken finally found and understood in Alex is gone. I refuse to read about a pain 😢 especially for someone who doesn't have the ability to properly understand how emotions work, he will have to go through having lost his father, then his lover all in a few days. I can't, and don't want to, read about him learning about the emotion known as loss and heartbreak 💔. I can't read about Mylo losing the only person he thought cared about him, especially after losing Ayeon. I can't know what he feels when he learns what happened, what he does when he learns he's lost the only person who lit that spark, that fire 🔥 is his soul. The only person who had any chance of understanding him and how he thinks, and who doesn't scold him or think he's strange because of how he thinks. Then there's Byte. I just, I loved him as a character. He was written so well, he was like a snarky teenager but without all the nastiness. SoulCreek is one story I really didn't want to end, it was just so well written. Kinda like Remember the Flowers, Home Zomewhere Else, Devil's Gambit, Far Beyond the World, Lyre, Roads yet Traveled, Northern Lights, and Rain Check. All are my favorites, especially Lyre, Northern Lights, & RyT.
I made that mistake already. Actually, the first ever FVN I'd ever read/found was Arches. I don't even remember how I came across itch, or the story itself. As you must know, Arches is about the worst novel any person could read as their first foray into the genre. Not to mention, it doesn't really conform to what most think the genre to be. There's no full on animal based consensual intercourse. The story is very heavily nuanced & extremely well written. It seems to have changed the landscape of FVN's forever for the better. The emotions one goes though while reading it, Rollercoaster doesn't even begin to describe what it does to the reader, and it's all the better for it, imo.
An Appreciation Letter (Do not continue reading if you haven't finished the story):
I've been following Soulcreek for a long time and I cannot overstate how happy I am with the direction it ended up taking. And now that it's over, I can say with confidence that this was an amazing experience, from start to finish. I've always thought that there were certain furry-horror stories that were so great that they might even transcend the furry space altogether and become straight-up horror cult classics, much like Echo, for example. I believe you guys have created something that deserves equal praise and acclaim. This mix of psychological, technological and somewhat-eldritch horror was so well-exploited and interestingly written. And the character writing? I could go on for days. From the bottom of my heart - hats off. Be proud of your creation, because it is great.
If Soulcreek ends here, I believe it is at a great place to leave it. Just enough conclusions, answers, suspense and open-ended mysteries. But if you choose to continue it - maybe even follow Mylo's story now? I will be here at every update, excited to read more. Thank you for your work! This story will stick with me for a good long time. Cheers.
Loved the pre-credits ending, the post-credits ending feels very out of place afterwards... I could see it for the character, but it feels very very odd and disjointed, like horror movie stingers that were tackled on for sequel-bait.
Words are not enough to describe how beautiful this game is I've cried multiple times while playing it. If i could erase my memory and start all over again i would do it as many times as i could. I've only known this game for a week but its one of the greatest thing i could have wish for, Thank you for the author and everyone who created this masterpiece i would never forget this game i will always remember and love it, each character each moments each seconds of the game will be engraved in my soul. I can't thank you enough for making us experience this masterpiece for all my heart i thank you❤️.
I'm so sad I have had to finish this vn it is Truly my top vn and I really you will be making a part two were we see the waste lands and come back to our husband. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE BEST STORY TO HAVE EVER BEEN MADE {if there is I second you CAN bet I will be there no matter what}

Loken still says he doesn't wish to "loose another acolyte", just in case some cleanup update ever gets made.
I will post it in discord with your name!

I'm... i'm with you in the last part! Even Ryuo said he has warhammers to paint
One of the few VN's I have finished and am like oh boy this needs a sequel for sure!
The ending reminds me of aot when wren said "our enemies is on the other side" like when MC saying they're next stop is hushed lands
Just finished reading the last update and all i can say is that this deserves a sequel "The Hushed Lands"

This definitely deserves a sequel, just saying. After I finished the story, I feel like there is something missing, more.
Photorealistic Loken jumpscare.
